I keep hearing that the books were hidden from us. What about the Apocrypha? But they listed these books in Scripture! If you type the word expose Enoch, expose Jasher and Expose Jubilees, etc; You will quickly come to realize why it is not part of scripture. And anybody that’s trying to put these in the scripture needs to study what the doctrine of Christ is.
I heard a story decades ago by a pastor that met a boy that could share the gospel of Christ through the story of Batman. He mentioned Batman in his sermon not as though it was scripture but because it is common culture for us. It does not make Batman scripture.
There are many exposés on these books citing direct references and how they contradict scripture, contradict each other, and many other things. But in this case I thought it prudent to give context and why I’m writing these things. And just as the apostles pointed out people and name them by name I am naming them by name.
2 Corinthians 13:1 This [will be] the third [time] I am coming to you. “By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.”
Titus 3:10 Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition,
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Proverbs 14:5-9 5 A faithful witness does not lie, But a false witness will utter lies. 6 A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not [find it,] But knowledge [is] easy to him who understands. 7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, When you do not perceive [in him] the lips of knowledge. 8 The wisdom of the prudent [is] to understand his way, But the folly of fools [is] deceit. 9 Fools mock at sin, But among the upright [there is] favor.
2 Timothy 2:14-19 14 Remind [them] of these things, charging [them] before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane [and] idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. 17 And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, 18 who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
Acts 17:10-12 10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily [to find out] whether these things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men.
Matthew 22:29-32, 37-40 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30 “For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. 31 “But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’ ? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 “This is [the] first and great commandment. 39 “And [the] second [is] like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 “On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
Acts 20:28-31 28 “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 29 “For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 “Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. 31 “Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.
Matthew 7:15-16 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
1 Timothy 4:6-7 If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. 7 But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.
